Beautiful People!

There isn't anything quite as much fun as capturing someone's personality and freezing that moment in time forever. When I am photographing people I do shoot a lot, but it's just so I don't miss something in their face or eyes that gives them the ability to shine through the mundane task of having your picture taken. Yes, that means I have to go through a lot of photos, but it's totally worth it. This is just a sneak peek of these two wonderful people I had the pleasure of photographing yesterday. I just couldn't wait to share them!

We finally made it into Prospect Park near our apartment. Needless to say it is beautiful and we will be spending a lot more time there. It amazes me that there is a seemingly never ending list of amazing things to do here. I hope you enjoy a little taste of NYC nature!

24 in 24 on 24 for 24...whew!

Hello Friends!

It's been awhile since my last post, but alas I return bringing photographs of a day spring day in NYC! My lovely sister-in-law visited this past week for her golden birthday. For her celebration she had one request, that we do 24 NYC adventures for her 24th birthday which is on the 24th in 24 hours. Let's just say we are still exhausted, but we did it! It was so much fun and we did things that we still hadn't done since moving here seven months ago. I've provided the landscapes, portraits of the birthday girl and a few with Cameron that I took throughout the day. I have to say it felt so good to hold my camera again! Hope you enjoy and I won't take so much time between posts again!

Quiet, Remembrance

I remember the morning like it was yesterday. I was getting ready for school, walked downstairs and my mom wanted me to come to the living room. I walk in and watched live on TV the second tower getting hit by an airplane. That day at school we all sat and watched the news with grieve stricken faces and sinking hearts. A catastrophe that I will never forget. Today, Cameron and I happened to have the day off together, we finally went to view the 9/11 Memorial. It was beautifully done and we will have to go back when the trees are all bloomed out. There are two pools of water set in the footprints of the towers with cascading water down into what looks like nothingness. The pools are lined by bronze barriers with the names of those who lost their lives inscribed in it. The "Survivor Tree" holds artifacts left for those who passed. It was the only tree that survived, for the most part, through the rubble and was nursed back to health and so dubbed the "Survivor Tree." The new Trade Center is still being built, but it's presence holds a strong shadow over the past. If you get the chance to visit New York, this is one place you can't miss out on and it's free.
